"Life is like a rope, we can either learn to skip with it or use the rope to hang our self". In other words we can try to find a ray of hope in the most terrible of circumstances or succumb to our emotions.”
In this modern age our desires have created a very high standard of living. But has this need for increased materialistic gain come at too high a price? This continued longing for progression is unsustainable, so taking a pause to reexamine what is important is essential. Whether that be through prayer, meditation, reading a novel or any other technique- ‘recharging our batteries’ is paramount. It is important to know that we may not be able to control everything in our lives, but let us take control of the elements that we can. Look at the elements that create negativity and try to replace that with a positive and productive outlook. When is the last time you got up in the morning and simply after shower sat down, relaxed for a few minutes, and whilst having your breakfast listened to the birds chirping away, appreciating life before going to work?
What are the signs of imbalance in our lives?
1. Do we sleep well?
2. Do we feel unsecure with our present situation; are we worried about our financial affairs?
3. Do we feel that our life has become one pressure after another?
4. Are we becoming irrational in our behaviour?
5. Do we feel burnt out?
6. Have we lost the fun in life?
This list is endless.....
Consider this- how often do we re-evaluate our lives? We often do we say life is hectic, there is no time for enjoyment or we live to work! How often does this lead to a deeper look at our inner selves in order to improve the quality of our existence? In the cold light of day how much time do we spend gossiping about others, thinking about work long into the night, procrastinating about important life decisions- all of which is both time and energy consuming. So let us try to revisit our lifestyle and have a ‘spring clean’. If we do not then we will stay in a whirl pool of frantic living and will be consistently sucked into our existing habits, which will create many more moments of misery and complete unbalance in our life.
In life, we are burdened with the ambition of too much knowledge and understanding and in the process of accumulation we have lost our innocence. We see the birds flying in the sky, the dolphins in the warm waters of the deep blue sea, the stars in the dark night skies and what we see is the beauty and poise of the perfect balance of the innocence of the creation.
Human knowledge wants to accumulate to prove its superiority and therefore just simply desires to learn. These desires may vary from person to person whether that is in the desire for the accumulation of wealth or of being recognised in society. Therefore, it is essential that we must strike a balance between knowledge and innocence,` as it is not always that we are unstable due to stress of work or modern day livings. Of course, there is no place for arrogance or ignorance, as this will also cause imbalance in our lives.
We must learn to develop the ability to make the right decisions in order to create balance and harmony in our lives. If we want to regain balance in our life, it may be sensible to let go of our preconditioning of knowledge, which has caused so much trouble, and go back to our birth stage of innocence and then redefine our self again. When we are unbalanced then we will have lost the ability to see and understand things as they should be and will waste lots of time arguing over small petty things due to our misunderstandings.
Create a balance between our needs and our greed as well as a balance between ambition and relaxation. Respect the opinion of others and live with awareness to what creates our imbalances and how to handle them before they take over.
